We have a hair school about 15 min from me that is cheaper than a regular salon because it is students. I really dont have the money to go to an all out salon %26amp; get my hair tipped. You think they would do an ok job?

They might if the teachers are supervising. Usually when the students are doing colors, the teachers always have to supervise because it is a chemical that they are working with for safety reasons. I am a hairstylist and when we started using color, the teacher always mixed it while we observed and applied it as well. They only let a student do this when they know they are ready. Go to the school and ask about the proceedure and what to expect. I think they can do an okay job.

No, because a lot of girls have done hair and makeup their whole lives practicing on their friends and family. I would definitely have my hair done by beauty students.

Yes, beauty school students are supervised so they generally do a good job. First make sure you get them to do a test to check you are not allergic to their products.

My daughter recently had her hair cut and highlighted by a student. The trainer stood with the student at all times, did most of the cutting and highlighting and gave a running commentary all the time the work was being done. She paid 鎷?0 for it, but would normally have had to pay at least 鎷?0. It's a good deal if you ask me, but pick a salon that monitors the student at all times.

Having your hair done by beauty students is a great idea. It saves you money and gives them practice. Just because they aren't licensed yet, doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing. They are learning - but the school wouldn't let them use live models if they didn't know what they were doing. I have done this before and it was the BEST hair color I have EVER gotten. And it was SO cheap Plus, they usually have a supervisor watching them to make sure they don't mess anything up.

Oh my lord, I had such a bad experience with a student ,they cut my shoulder lenghth hair into a bob but it was crooked so they cut it shorter, this went on until ,and I swear this is true,my hair was just below my ears,AND i was going to a wedding the next day.Good luck.

I don't think it's a bad idea. The students are closely monitored by the instructors. If the student seems to be having some trouble, or appears to not be doing something correctly, the instructor will guide them through or sometimes the instructor will take the scissors and finish the job herself.

It would be fine. A beauty school is just that. Students learning. I have been many times and my hair always turns out just fine. The teachers will only allow students to do what they know they are good at. They are not going to put you with a student who just started a week ago. The students that will be coloring your hair will be the ones that will be graduating the soonest and know what they are doing. Also, the teachers are there watching, helping %26amp; advising the students the entire time.
If it would make you feel more comfortable, when you go into the facility just ask whom ever they schedule you with how long before they graduate. That will give you an answer right away. I have never had a bad experience %26amp; would recemend it to anyone.

i dont think its bad. its lot cheaper. every salon u go to so expensive, even for a trim. they do geat job. even if they do anything wrong, their supervisor/tutor is always there to fix it and give you more dicount as it went slightly wrong.

no way! i get my hair done all the time by beauty students. lots of tricky things too. layers angles highlights all at once. they're great at it and eager to learn and are sometimes a lot nicer than regular hair stylists!

I think its a good idea and its much cheaper. But make sure that when you make your appointment to always ask for your hair to be done by a senior student because they have more experience and they usually do a better job. Been there and done that. Trust me

but never try a haircut!

yes I think is it a bad a idea. For the simple fact that the girl's working there are praticing and learning how to still. But for maybe something less harded, like a trim.

go for it the good thing is with places like that is that they are cheaper and sometimes you come out looking better than when you went in. Pus they cant really mess up because they are constantly supervised by professionals and if if something does go wrong the professionals would know how to fix it.
