as a salon owner I would have to say no to this
as I would not class my salon as expensive I charge 鎷?5 for a full head of highlights, cap method and I use top products like Redken etc, expensive does not always mean the best
hope that answers your question, however I would recommend a salon does your highlights for you

No,it depends on the hairdresser, how experienced she is and if she has diploma's in colouring.
Ive gone to both levels of hairdresser, expensive and cheap and it definately doesn't depend on who has the most expensive salon,I can tell you that from experience.
Does an expensive hair salon necessarily mean a better type of colouring when you want highlights?
no, because there are only a limited amount of colours salons can use anyway as there are only so many that are actually made so you can buy professional products yourself to do at home and they will be the same as what are used in salons. what you are paying for is a hairdressers expertise in hair colouring and knowledge of what colours to mix to get the shades that you want.
Does an expensive hair salon necessarily mean a better type of colouring when you want highlights?
It doesn't necessarily mean you get a better type of colouring, most salons use similar products.
What you should do is go to a salon that has a colour technician, this is a person that specialises in colour rather than cutting.
There are good and bad hairdressers in all level of salons.
