It would look fine, but just know that black doesn't fade out of your hair (it's the only color that won't come out). If you ended up having second thoughts later, there would pretty much be nothing you could do about it, because if you try to bleach it out it turns a nasty shade of orange. But, if you are prepared to keep it in until it grows out, then I say - go ahead. It's your hair and your life, so do whatever you want with it...

i know a girl that has black hair with red hi lites and it looks cool on her,try it ,you can always change it if you dont like it.i think if it is what you wanna do,do it,its ur hair,not no one elses.good luck =)

I have red hair. When I had my natural hair people said I could never get away with the colors I have colored it.

I have been burgandy for awhile now and people just assume it's natural.

I have also done punk red and purple and green.

I say it's just hair have fun with it!

Why not go black with PURPLE highlights. They are more cool than red cos everyone has red.

Never have green highlights because it makes it look like you have some dreadful illness or something.

if you do red do it a dark red so it blends a little with the red. when i first read they question w/o reading the info i was like " you can do the hair as long as your punk or goth" like if ur a "hot topic" girl, then yeah thats fine

It is your hair ~ do what you feel happy with. Allot depends on skin tone as well...if you go to dark you will look to "drawn"...your hair coloring will take away from your facial features and skin tone...but as stated, tis your hair, so go for it.
