I am planning on dying my hair for the first time?

I have had my hair highlighted before, just never dyed. My hair is a darker blondish, and I have highlights in it right now.

I plan on dying it a really really light blonde.

Do you think I should strip my hair before dying it?

Because what I am worried about is dying it, and having some yellow come through where the highlights were.

well first off, dont do it yourself( aka, box color)

get it done professionally!!!!

it will damage your hairand either turn it orange or green.

and yes if you put box color on top of your color now, some will take and some wont.

It just depends on exactly what color your hair is

no one can determine this without acutally looking at your hair type and color

it depends on your porosity and if the elasticity in your hair is bad it will damage it, therefore head to a salon girl!!!

well if you are dying it a lighter blonde I don't see any reason for stripping it

if your worried about it that much than do it.

i would have a professional do your hair...especially where you want to lighten it up alot...doing it yourself could strip alot of the oils out of your hair making it very brittle...if you were going a couple of shades lighter than your own color any of the hair colors that are all natural will work well. good luck:)

Don't do it at home. It is worth the price you would pay a stylist to insure you don't end up with something hideous. And if you do then you would have to pay a stylist to fix it anyway.

Don't stip your hair! That is the worst thing you can do.. it will make your hair even more damaged. You need to use a good toner when you die it and that will remove the yellow. Or you can go to a local beauty supply store and buy a purple shampoo that basically does the same thing. I use Loreal's Shimmer Lights. You can use it every few shampoos to avoid the yellow or brassiness coming back.. it's awesome!
