I've tried the highlights at home but it never works out. And you should watch the roots on how often maybe 3-7 weeks depending on hair growth.

I personally have it done professionally at a salon. My hair is much healthier as every 6 weeks they do the base not entire head and next time they do the color and highlights - not so much chemicals

Well with highlights I do them as soon as my roots grow in. and with dye I do it every month because the color fades. My mom is a beautician and she does my hair so it makes it really cheap b.c all i have to pay for is the dye. But doing it once a month for $40 depending on the type gets pretty expensive. Just use a good hydrating shampoo if you dye it every month I recommend Tresemme or Sunsilk(I LOVE IT!)

haven't yet........but i plan too. an i think i would definitely get it done in a salon. (friend had a bad do it urself experience :(

highlights definitely,cuz they add that extra flava!! i don't switch up too often but when i do since i don't trust myself with my hair o so much i get it done professionally. i think that really depends on where your hair skill status is.

I use to get it highlighted in a salon every six weeks but now it's gotten too expensive! So I try to do it at home and it's worked so far I do those every 6 to 8 weeks!
